Hi
The current optimization algorithm relies only on the spline's shape (the position of its points). It ideally should also take into consideration other factors, such as the spline's orientation, extrusion scale, extrusion shape's variation, and maybe others. This makes the optimization not cover all possible use cases. I can see why this can be called a bug, and I can also see why it can be called a missing feature. Either way, and whatever we call it, it is sure is that Curvy Splines will definitely be a better product if the optimization algorithm handled all these cases. This task is already in the back log, but not yet planned for an upcoming update.
