Help spacing picket on a fence
#1
Id like to create a fence generator, with long posts every 2meter and smaller pickets in between. How can I best manage spacing so that i am not spawning pickets where a post is, and so that spacing between each post is even.

I've attached image of the problem and current node network. 2 input meshes and 2 volume spots

Hi,
I would assume that setting the right distance between pickets will make sure that pickets are always spawned at a position that overlaps with an existing post. I'm guessing you already tried different values and couldn't find one that works. If so,could you share with me your generator and the assets it uses? I will give it a try and see what might be the issues.
Thank you

yes i've tried a few values, but never quite got it right. I'm assuming the 'bounds' offset throws the spacing just enough to make it inconsistent. Is there a way to ignore the bounds of an input mesh, and space each point at absolute distances? Or maybe I can use an empty input into bounds or a dummy object?

Fairly new to curvy so I'm assuming I'm missing something obvious.

Alternatively, if its possible to add some kind of script that will lengthen every n number of pickets that would be doable as well.

I am only using one custom object at the moment. Attached in .zip

Im not sure how to export the generator, but the picket parts are fairly simple if you want to re-create the network.

I prefer using the same setup as you, including the 3d models.
Exporting them is very easy: in the Project window, right click on your scene, then click on Export Package. Unity will automatically include in the package any file needed for that scene to work.
You can then send me the package by email or PM, to avoid posting it here which is a public thread.
