Hey there,

Is it possible to just remove/disable this overlay on the scene? I only need it when I edit the curve but its always visible, much frustrating..

You can do that by disabling the Show Global Toolbar setting in the preferences:

Please consider leaving a review for Curvy. This will help a lot keeping Curvy relevant in the eyes of the Asset Store algorithm.
